Douglas Lamont

Douglas is CEO of Tony’s Chocolonely, joining in October 2022 from innocent drinks where he was CEO for nine years. 

As a passionate advocate for business as a force for good, he is also co-chair of The Better Business Act, a coalition of more than 500 UK businesses that campaigns to ensure businesses are legally responsibly to balance their commitment to people and planet as well as to shareholders. 

As innocent’s CEO, Douglas put his advocacy for building businesses that balance people, profit and planet into action. He oversaw rapid expansion into new markets, new product ranges and more than doubled the size of the company to €500m of turnover. In tandem, Douglas’ leadership bolstered innocent’s commitment to people and planet. Becoming a B-Corp in 2018, committing to Net Zero by 2030 and through its 10% of profits to charity pledge. 

Douglas brings over 25 years of business experience to his role at Tony’s. His career started in Corporate Finance at KPMG before he became Director of Corporate Development at Freeserve (merged with Orange in 2007) – where Douglas led the company from a start-up to one of the UK’s leading internet service providers. 

Prior to becoming CEO at innocent, he held a number of other leadership roles, including Managing Director of This Water, and Marketing & Innovation Director. 

Douglas has a Master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh and also studied at Harvard Business School.

Ikenna Azuike

Ikenna Azuike started his career as a lawyer, but is now a sought-after journalist, presenter, speaker and filmmaker. Ikenna was born in Lagos, Nigeria, grew up in the UK, studied law in the UK and France and has been living in The Netherlands with his family since 2004.

 

FROM LAWYER TO BROADCASTER

After working as a lawyer with Shearman & Sterling in London, Singapore and New York, and with Clifford Chance LLP in Amsterdam, he decided to change course and follow his passions for broadcasting and social activism.
